It's been a while since I updated this blog. But in that time, I have done some general cleaning around here, refining posts, starting new drafts, etc.. My expertise has also grown beyond theme parks. You see, I have grown interested in film, video games, politics, history, food, vexillology (the study of flags) and the like. That is why I intend to revitalize this blog to be a source of both entertainment and enlightenment. See you in the future with hopefully more posts!

The crowning jewel of Disneyland Resort Rio is Disneyland Rio, a magic kingdom of six fanciful lands. Entering Disneyland Rio, we see turnstiles designed in an Art Deco fashion and a flowerbed depicting the shining face of Mickey Mouse. Above that is the Walter E. Disney, one of six Mohawk steam trains transporting guests from the main entrance to Frontierland, Toontown, and Tomorrowland. To the left of the train depot is the Newsstand, selling things like newspapers and magazines, while to the right is the Antique Photo Emporium, where you can have your picture taken anywhere in time, from primeval days to the near future and beyond.
As you begin to see posters advertising various attractions found within the park, you begin to realize walking under the train depot is like walking onto a movie set or into a dream. Perhaps you’ve always dreamed of going back to the quintessential metropolis of the Prohibition era. That dream comes to life all around you in Big City USA.
BIG CITY USA
NEW YORK, NEW YORK- FRANK SINATRA
Music fills the air as we step foot in the New York City of the 1920s. Here, we find the New York that never was and always will be. In great contrast to the actual island of Manhattan, Disneyland Rio’s take on the city is pure magic. The Big City Electric Tram roams up and down Broadway while flappers, baseball stars, and members of Al Capone’s mob roam the sidewalks. Maybe this is, after all, the city that never sleeps. On our left is City Hall, where you can store your valuables, get insider tips, find lost children, file complaints, or get into other mischief. A pet kennel is also available here, as well as a picnic garden. Next door is the Margaret Winkler Theatre, where you can experience Big Band Beat, an exciting show featuring energetic tap dancers, classic Disney characters, and the extraordinary sounds of a live big band. Across Elias Square, which features the American and Brazilian flags with the park’s dedication plaque, is The Walt Disney Story, the inspiring story of a man who beat all the odds to become one of the most well-known names in the entertainment industry.
The rest of Big City USA is just a nice place that gives you an energetic vibe that you can only get in such a place. Such locales include McDuck’s Department Store, the foremost gift shop in the park, Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, a restaurant serving wonderful Italian food and themed to a speakeasy, Liberty Candy Kitchen, a candy store and ice cream parlor in one, Cam Era’s Photography Studio, Broadway Booksellers, Youse Guys Moychendice, selling souvenirs from the Big Apple, and many, many other places. Each building is designed and decorated in its own special way, marked by inconspicuous details. For instance, some of the two-story buildings have signs on their second floor windows, such as “MR C. MINTZ; ANIMATION DISTRIBUTOR. SPECIALIZING IN RABBITS, CATS, LITTLE GIRLS, AND ALL-TOGETHER PSYCHOS.” It’s little thing like that that make Big City USA one-of-a-kind.
The aerial trams make their primary stop in Central Park, a nature-filled plaza with paths leading to the other five lands of Disneyland Rio. While it may seem like a useless mode of transportation, it adds to the uniqueness of Big City USA. In the very center of Central Park is a collection of statues known as Legacies, featuring bronze versions of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. In comparison to other Disney parks with this statue, Walt and Mickey are not alone. Surrounding them are smaller statues, each featuring a different Disney official and a different character. You can see Roy Disney and Minnie Mouse having a picnic, Frank Miller and Goofy shaking hands, Michael Eisner having a serious discussion with Roger Rabbit, and Bob Iger sitting at a bench with a very frustrated Donald Duck. All five statues lead up Disneyland Rio’s icon: Cinderella Castle.
If we make a left after exiting the Columbus Square Café, we see what looks like the ruins of a city straight out of an Arabian Nights adventure.
ADVENTURELAND
Kilimanjaro Safaris Radio Music - Hapa Duniani
The world of dreams can take on many forms. Some project us into mysterious and exotic locales, far away from civilization. These dreams are true life in Adventureland.
As brave Disneyland Rio guests enter Adventureland, their senses are overcome by the gorgeous sights of jungle foliage, the harrowing sounds of not-so-distant wild animals, the trinkling of hidden streams, and the aromas of exotic fruit. In this remarkable realm of adventure and exploration, guests experience an amazing amalgam of many of the world’s far-off places and uncharted regions. Exotic colors catch the eye among the lush landscape. Rustic colonial architecture stands between thatched huts straight out of the savannahs of an African safari. Don your pith helmet and lace up your boots as you enter the land where the beat of native drums echo around you.
"Here is adventure; here is romance; here is mystery. Tropical rivers-silently flowing into the unknown. The unbelievable splendor of exotic flowers...the eerie sounds of the jungle...with eyes that are always watching. This is Adventureland." -Walt Disney
As you enter Adventureland through a replica of the Casbah in Algeria, you come across a whole new world as you’re swept off your feet on The Magic Carpets of Agrabah. Come join Aladdin, Jasmine, and their friends for an unforgettable adventure above the city of Agrabah. To the left of the carpets is Abu’s Bazaar, selling a unique array of Arabian artifacts and clothing.
Beyond the sands of Agrabah is a swampy fishing village that goes by the name of Mystery Springs. Almost completely reclaimed by the rainforest, bizarre insects and beautiful birds chirp loudly in the distance as calm streams and miniature waterfalls flow past walkways that go in all kinds of crazy directions. Quite a few of those paths lead to what used to be the center of Mystery Springs. In the center of this odd plaza is Daring Dorothy, the dilapidated statue of a young girl who, according to legend, was the only surviving member of her family after she was involved in a shipwreck off the beach of Mystery Springs. Dorothy then who founded the town of Mystery Springs on the very spot where she realized she was marooned on an island (Yes, Mystery Springs is located on a remote desert island). Despite the statue’s fall into obscurity, it serves as a compass for explorers visiting the once thriving island. Dorothy's arm points to the south, her pet tiger's tail points to the north, and the tiger's claws point to the east and west. To the east of Daring Dorothy rests an old boat landing, now torn apart by rain, rotting and entangled in vines. The dim hum of ramshackled motor boats come up from behind the old structure, as the treetops of a dense jungle claw up towards the sky. This remote outpost of sorts leads you out to the docks of this old jungle boat landing where you board a tramp steamer for an adventure into the heart of the unknown...what lies ahead is anyone's guess. Prepare yourself for the adventures to be held upon The Jungle Cruise.
Leaving behind this "last outpost of civilization" you journey away from the remote desert island and into the exotic rivers of the world. Here you will sail through tropical rainforests filled with rare plants and exotic flowers. Here are seen the trappings of primitive civilizations and vanished cultures: spears, shields, ceremonial masks, and raiment native to tribal life along the equator. The skipper of your boat is a seasoned traveler; he/she knows all the lore and legend of Adventureland. Your skipper will point out all the various sights and sounds to be seen along the river, also pointing out that life in the jungle is never boring, as elephants frolic in a pool, an amateur film crew is lost in the wild, dinosaurs still roam the island, and an Egyptian pyramid lies in ruins.
There are only one other investigations being conducted by the Society of Explorers & Adventurers. One of them is just a short distance from Fire Mountain. As you can see, there are minecarts traveling around the mysterious building. Legend has it that ancient deities Quetzalcoatl and Tlaloc had a massive argument over who should rule the island. They then got into a bloody battle that resulted in the construction of this building to keep the danger of the fight away from the natives of the island. Now, the building is said to be home to the spirits of the two deities. All previous attempts at trying to get any artifacts out of the building have failed. Maybe that’s because the two gods joined forces to take out the archaeologists’ minecarts. The natives refer to the two gods as Raging Spirits.
Load Area Music - The Haunted Mansion
A short distance from the Society’s base camp is a Mock Tudor mansion built by Daring Dorothy so she could live in it as Mystery Springs's first, and unfortunately only, “queen” of sorts. When Mystery Springs was founded, the natives of the island saw Dorothy as a goddess and crowned her queen. She then put the island’s native tribes into slavery. She made them toil so intensely that they realized that Dorothy wasn't a goddess at all. They soon rebelled against their tyrannical master in a battle that left Daring Dorothy dead. They then sacrificed Dorothy’s body to Teoyaomicqui, the feared and fabled king of dead warriors. Dorothy’s spirit is said to walk the halls of her once extravagant mansion, along with 999 of her "closest friends," if you will. Today, the natives refer to her former home as The Haunted Mansion. A peculiar chill shivers down our spine. The hairs on our necks stand on end. We feel as if someone is watching as we hasten past the foreboding plot.
Closer to The Jungle Cruise’s dock is a house that is a lot less paranormal. Housed in an Ipsa fovere Disneydron (very cozy Disney tree) is The Swiss Family Treehouse. This ingenious treetop home was built by the Swiss Family Robinson after they were marooned on Mystery Island by the first disastrous shipwreck since the one that brought Daring Dorothy to the island.
Just a short walk from Daring Dorothy is a dense jungle trail marked by ancient ruins and remote archaeologist tents and vehicles. Non-primitive torches (Meaning they aren't made out of bamboo poles) light the way at night, leading to what appears to be an archaeological dig. Enormous statues of such animals as elephants and panthers line the road as a massive temple climbs up towards the sky. The sounds of jungle creatures grow more and more intense as a swampy river delta flows in from the waters of the nearby Jungle Cruise. Indiana Jones & the Temple of Sacred Souls lies just ahead.
Indiana Jones Theme Song
Mystery Springs; Circa 1937-Artifacts lead to a jungle base camp where the renowned archaeologist Indiana Jones has made his latest discovery: The Temple of Sacred Souls. The temple is the lasting tribute to the native's patron deity, the feared and fabled king of dead warriors: Teoyaomicqui. Board a well-worn troop transport jeep and careen through the subterranean world of Adventureland where you will have an unfortunate encounter with Teoyaomicqui himself in his supposedly "sealed" imprisonment. After releasing the evil spirit by accident, you are forced to flee, narrowly avoiding a wide variety of dangerous monsters and booby traps in you attempt to escape. Can Indy help his fellow explorers escape the dreadful price they must pay for freeing Teoyaomicqui?
The Lion King - Circle of Life - Official [HD]
Past the SEA’s dig sites, we enter the brighter side of Mystery Springs. This was where the native children would play and go to school. Well, they didn’t exactly go to school, as the lessons were taught through the stories of Simba, Nala, Zazu, Timon, Pumbaa, and Scar. This was more of entertainment, as we have just come across The Legend of the Lion King. See Simba and his friends come roaring to life on stage.
Yo-Ho (A Pirate's Life For Me) - Pirates of the Caribbean
Nearby is Mystery Springs’s main harbor, or, at least, it was its harbor until Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew took control of it. Now, the only ship seen on the island is The Black Pearl. This can’t be good, because we’ve entered Tortuga Square, the most dangerous place in all of Mystery Springs. Beyond The Black Pearl, we can see El Castillo, home of the venerable Disney classic, Pirates of the Caribbean, a journey through the Caribbean on pirate-infested seas in search of the ultimate treasure. Set sail with the wildest crew that ever attacked the Spanish Main!
As we cross the Ravenswood Bridge, we leave the tropical paradise of Adventureland and travel back in time to the days of manifest destiny.
FRONTIERLAND
Back to the Future 3 - Main Theme
The year is 1885 as a proud sternwheeler makes its way up a muddy river. Stagecoaches and covered wagons make their way up the street, as simple townsfolk and Native Americans walk side by side. Gold miners sail out on makeshift rafts to the mines across the river, while music and laughter emits from the local saloon. And from the dense wilderness comes the whistling of trains and the lonely howl of a coyote, longing to be with its companions. The realm we have entered is an amalgam of sights and sounds that authentically conjure up images of America's expansion. Come by land, water, or rail, the pioneer days live on in Frontierland.
"A tribute to the faith, courage, and ingenuity of the pioneers here we experience the story of our country's past. The colorful drama of frontier America in the exciting days of the covered wagon and the stagecoach. The advent of the railroad...and the romantic riverboat."-Walt Disney
Closest to Cinderella Castle is the entrance to Frontierland, a log-constructed fort overlooking the same murky river flowing beneath the entrance of Adventureland (Which just so happens to be an extension of the Jungle Cruise rivers). A log bridge leads through the fort's entrance, creaking and moaning as guests step upon it. The American and Brazilian flags hangs proudly from each tower while rifles seldom point out from the sides of the stockade. If one listens close enough they can hear the sounds of singing from deep within the fort, some evidently bored soldiers the cause of the noise. With the music still in our ears we cross over the bridge and take a step back in time. The second we step through the fortress gates we find ourselves gone from the world of today and in the world of yesterday. We are now in some boomtown of the 1880s, a dusty-old town thriving off of the nearby gold mines. Even if the fortune of the town hasn't been as lucky as it has been in the past, things are pretty nice around here, most folks are happy (Although some aren't very friendly), the water is clean (Well, somewhat clean), and the local farming community has been spitting out some pretty big crops (At least if they haven't been eaten by the nearby moose population)! This town is Sanders Creek, the self-proclaimed "Cutest Little Town on this Side of the Mississippi!" Sanders Creek is home sweet home to its well-sized population, particularly the miners. As a matter of fact, the miners have called Big Thunder "home sweet home" since the very day they arrived here. Big Thunder is also a sign of hope for many weary travelers, including pioneers whom have faced many hardships along their journey, and cowboys who have just returned from a LONG cattle drive. Many of the folks in town are so friendly that they'll offer these travelers a place to stay, along with a free meal and a good night's rest. But not all people are too friendly with strangers...often time when cowboys come into town some farmers don't like the idea of these rowdy people coming into their town and causing havoc (Cowboys are very rude and loud after a LONG cattle drive). So they usually pick fights with the passing strangers, often resulting in arrests, gunshots, and soiled pants. Poor Auntie Sara (The local laundress) had to clean at least fifteen pairs of underwear after a rather disastrous fight that somehow wound up in the river (An upset farmer smeared a cowboy with fishing bait and pushed him in the river so he would be attacked by fish. Instead they fell in together and were both attacked by fish). But other than all that, Big Thunder is a quite the peaceful town. Something new and exciting happens each and everyday, whether it be a bar-fight, a performing salesman or magician, or even an earthquake or twister! There is always something happening here, and most of the time it has to do with that cursed island across the way...Big Thunder Mountain...
Disneyland Paris - Frontierland Soundtrack (Big Country Theme)
Almost 200 years ago, a group of prospectors by the names of Pete, Larry, and Joe stumbled upon a Native American Village while looking for a place to build a new mine. When the natives felt threatened by these three men, they chased them into a cave, in which they discovered tons of shining gold. When news of the discovery wnet public, people from around the world funneled into Sanders Creek and made it the boomtown it is today. Money began to flow in and soon enough the railroad company expanded its rails into “Big Sky Country,” followed by the advent of the mighty Abraham Lincoln Riverboat, which cleared a path in the wilderness so the town would be able to trade and receive goods from other towns and states via the river. Yes, sir things were really looking up for the folks in Sanders Creek, and all was well...until...it happened...
Ikana Canyon Music
On Friday, May 13, 1884, a foolish boy decided to cross The Rivers of Liberty to find a little bit of gold for himself. To do it, he brought with him, he brought a pickaxe, his father’s Winchester rifle, and his dog Rover. After finding mostly pyrite, more commonly known as “fool's’ gold,” he did come across a giant nugget of what actually was gold. As soon as he brought the gold out of the mountain, an enigmatic force pulled him back into the mountain, never to be seen again. The local Native Americans (The Sassagoula Tribe) believe that this great fissure was caused by the ancient beast living deep within the massive mountain. Native American legend claims that many years ago a great beast (that greatly resembles the Yeti from Expedition: Everest), called the Thunderbeast, came to the earth from the heavens and made its nest in the barren wasteland that was Big Sky Country. Wanting something more, it created the mountains, rivers, forests, and fields with a single roar. It then created the Sassagoula Tribe to tend to its land. When it was angry, it would create thunderstorms. When it was happy, it would provide its people with an excellent hunt and crop turnout. The deity was also known for sabotaging trains filled with corrupt miners. I wonder what that means.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Music - Deku Tree
Deciding to find out, you wind through the town’s mining headquarters, Mormon temple, and the Native Americans’ museum dedicated to the local legend of the Thunderbeast. Part of the museum features a "shrine" to the Thunderbeast, complete with its magical crops. It is recommended that miners toss coins onto the altar for good luck. They then reach a station in which they board a train. Advertisements say the train will take them on a journey to Big Thunder Mountain, while first passing through the mountain which the Thunderbeast is said to guard as his home. The train departs from the station and climbs a small lift which goes into a minor drop, then the train circles around to a larger lift, carrying the miners towards the mountain peaks. On the way up they pass through a ransacked cave with murals of the Thunderbeast, warning the miners that the mountain is his territory. The train reaches the top of the mountain and curves around the main peak, then goes through another cave. Upon leaving the cave, the train slows to a halt before track that has been torn apart, presumably by the Thunderbeast. During this brief stop, the Thunderbeast magically changes the direction of the track. The train then rolls backwards into the cave and down a new route, through a dark tunnel that spirals downward. The train comes to a halt again in a large cave inside the mountain where riders see the shadow of the Thunderbeast on the wall as he tears up more track. During this time, another track switch activates. As the shadow moves away, the train rolls forward, out of the mountain, under The Rivers of Liberty, a little into the business district of Sanders Creek, and down the main 80-foot drop. The train makes a banked turn and speeds back up through another cave in the mountain, in which the roars of the Thunderbeast are heard again. The train exits from the backside of the mountain and enters a large helix before it is lifted back into the mountain a final time. The train drops through a final cave where the Thunderbeast himself reaches down to try and eat the miners alive. Upon reaching the bottom of this drop, lucky miners return back to the unloading dock and depart into Al O. Fitz Mine Supply, which supplies any miner with any of their prospecting needs.
They say that Big Thunder Mountain is now haunted by the miners that died in the quake. Empty mine trains careen along the tracks wildly as dusty-old lanterns sway in the wind. At night, one can hear invisible voices speaking, mysterious music, and even the sound of digging and picking at cavern walls. The mountain still remains open to the public whom have taken up the habit of riding in the mine trains, no matter how dangerous it is. Some folks even claim that some bandits have taken up residence in a certain part of the mountain. And I GUARANTEE that is one hundred percent true.
It's 1885 now, and we have entered the town right during the middle of its reconstruction. It's come a long way since it was hit by that horrid disaster and nowadays one can find everything that a western town needs: A General Store selling all of your frontier needs, an apothecary and dentist's office (The later having horrible screams coming from inside), Sam Houston’s Hunting Supply which sells a wide variety of plastic guns, swords, and stuffed animals (The plush kind, not the taxidermic kind), a bank, a barber shop (Complete with striped barber pole), a gun shop located right next to a TNT warehouse (Dangerous placement isn't it?), and even a schoolhouse. Other locations of note include the Native American Trading Post which features items made by the Sassagoula Indians, and Davy Crockett’s Hat Shop, where one can buy that famous coonskin cap, a cowboy hat, or anything else one’s head desires. There's even a sheriff's office, the Davis Hotel, and a jailhouse. And now western town would be complete without a saloon, and the saloon in Big Thunder is none other than the Golden Nugget Saloon. A wild and honky-tonky eatery, the Nugget is a happy place with something for everyone to enjoy. There's a comedic musical performance on the stage, an ice cream bar, dozens of seats, a psychotic piano player, and even balcony seating. But beware, sometimes, no-good desperados get into fights after an intense card game goes awry. Billy the Kid is often involved with these brutal fights. Billy is named for one of his most his horrible crimes: Throwing Billy goats at people. His favorite place to hangout at is the Horseshoe and he just loves cheating at card games to earn a little (Sometimes A LOT) extra cash. His cheating often time causes fights to break out amongst him and his comrades and before you know it, people are getting knocked-out, guns are drawn, and chairs are thrown. Luckily, Sheriff Smith bursts in at the right time to arrest Billy. Soon enough he begins a fight with Billy and an EXTREMELY intense battle begins, taking to the balconies of the saloon, out on the rooftops of the other buildings, onto the streets of Frontierland, and eventually out into the wilderness. Select Disneyland Brazil Railroad trains passing through the wilderness at the right time are treated to a horseback chase alongside the tracks, Billy eventually caught by the sheriff. Billy is taken to the jailhouse and all is well...until he somehow or another breaks out and the whole situation repeats itself a few hours later...
Nestled in the Native American Village is the Frontierland Depot, one of the four stops for the Lionel & Disneyland Rio Railroad. The depot appears to be an old trading outpost, appearing to be very old and possibly even abandoned.
Across from the Horseshoe are the Rivers of Liberty, the rivers used to travel through the dense wilderness of Big Sky Country. Sailing upon these rivers is the mighty Abraham Lincoln Riverboat, named for the man who held America together during the turmoil of the Civil War. The proud steamboat arrives at the riverboat landing and takes dozens of passengers on a perilous voyage through the wilderness and a grand circle tour around Tom Sawyer Island. How can one get to Tom Sawyer Island? It's easy, all you have to do is head on over to the raft landing. This is where guests are shuttled to Tom Sawyer Island, a natural and man-made playground in an old mining camp. Here guests of nearly any age can explore the wonders of the area, finding the true spirit of the brave pioneer. The main attraction on the island is Injun Joe's Cave, in which you'll search for a magic paintbrush whose magic challenges the wrath of the Thunderbeast. After having a bit of fun in the playground, we decide to head to the other island in the Rivers of Liberty and enter its abandoned fort.
The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (Music) - Inside the Deku Tree
Inside the old fort are the skeletons of dead miners. Bats can be heard screeching in the distance as the dripping of water echoes throughout the hallowed halls. Pressing on we enter almost complete darkness, unaware of what lies ahead. The cavern moans as we walk through it, the occasional passing overhead train causing the whole place to rumble in weakness. A few gas lanterns light the way as we step onto a wooden bridge that spans out over a seemingly bottomless chasm past stalactites and stalagmites. A clothed skeletal arm hangs on for dear "afterlife" to the side of a rock which still plays home to a pick-ax and lantern. It seems as if the poor owner of the arm lost his grip AND his arm and fell into the chasm below. Crossing over the bridge we continue to go deeper and deeper into the earth, the temperature slowly dropping as we go along. Green eyes peer out from craters and holes in the walls as we pass. A second later we enter a tunnel filled with water and lined by waterfalls of all shapes and sizes. A creaking wooden footbridge carries us across the crystal-clear pool and through the room (Which smells like chlorine). The footbridge rounds a corner and the water turns into a stream and begins to lead the way. The trail ends at a dim-lit dock, where a rotten log raft awaits us. This is the beginning of our adventure through the world of Red Dead Redemption on The Redemption River Expedition. The journey follows John Marston on his quest to save his family from the mischievous bandits that have been terrorizing Sanders Creek lately. After a 50-foot splash and a party, we come across another set of stairs (And another ramp) that lead up and out of the caverns and right into the General Store. Turns out that the basement leads straight into a stash of golden nuggets. Perhaps the owner of the General Store is secretly caring for the beast's babies…the world may never know...
Between the business district of Sanders Creek and the forests of the Sassagoula tribe, in the Rainbow Ridge Desert, a prospector known as Lucky Larry hosts the frontier's elite when it comes to seeing the natural vistas of the wild west. His Rainbow Ridge Stagecoach Rides are a popular event among cowboys and girls. Among the sites on his tour include Critter Country, Old Unfaithful, the Devil’s Paint Pots, and Cascade Peak.
Fantasmic! Theme - Walt Disney World/Disneyland - Piano - Synthesia Tutorial
Every night at sunset, Tom Sawyer Island and Aunt Polly’s Dockside Inn set the stage for the most suspenseful battle anyone will ever see in Fantasmic! We’ll join Mickey Mouse to enter his vivid imagination during a dream, witnessing scenes from such classic films as The Lion King, Fantasia, Toy Story, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Cinderella. But beware: imagination is a dangerous thing and can very easily turn into a horrible nightmare featuring some of the most wicked Disney villains of all time, ranging from Oogie Boogie to Maleficent. Be here when the night ignites!
Suddenly cheerful music begins to fill the air. Our attention is stolen by a forest trail (right next to the depot) leading out of Frontierland, beneath an overhang, and into what seems to be a village straight out of a child’s storybook. We can't pass up seeing what lies on the other side of the path!
FANTASYLAND
Cinderella Castle is a perfect portal for the realm that lies on the other side: Fantasyland. Here's a land where horses gallop majestically on a magnificent carousel, where teacups spin in a madcap fashion and elephants fly. Within the magical Old World setting of Fantasyland, every corner holds a bit of the magic of dreams come true. If Disneyland Rio has a heart, it is surely here. As Walt Disney said, "Here is the world of imagination, hopes, and dreams. In this timeless land of enchantment, the ages of chivalry, magic, and make-believe are reborn, and fairytales come true. Fantasyland is dedicated to the young and the young-in-heart."
Fantasyland Village Haus Area Music Loop (1/5)
Once the castle is behind us we step foot into a storybook village reminiscent of a Bavarian village. Cobblestone streets lead the way past the ornate buildings and beautiful gardens. A beanstalk can be seen curling up alongside a tower, growing out from within a door embedded in the bottom of the tower. This tower belongs to Kingdom Treasures, a shop themed to your favorite Disney movies selling all related merchandise. The beanstalk's roots can be found in the ceiling of the store with Mickey (From Mickey & the Beanstalk) attempting to hang on for dear life. Right next door is the first of many fantasy-filled adventures: Pinocchio’s Daring Journey. Board a woodcarver's cart and journey to the alpine village of Pinocchio, traveling to such dangerous places as Stromboli's Theatre, Pleasure Island, and even the belly of Monstro the Whale. With the guidance of the wishing star and the magic of the Blue Fairy, we ultimately share in the happy ending of Pinocchio and Gepetto. Peter Pan and the crew reside next door in Peter Pan's Flight to Neverland, where we board a flying pirate galleon and soar above Neverland and the twinkling lights of London. Unfortunately the villainous Captain James Hook and his gang of rogues wait for us aboard the Jolly Roger, ready for a battle. Can we make it out alive? With Peter Pan and Tinkerbell by our sides we'll be just fine. Across the street is another adventure in the skies: Jack Skellington's Nightmare Before Christmas. Board a coffin sleigh and soar through the story of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Such locales as Halloween Town, Christmas Town, and Oogie Boogie's Lair lie ahead. Celebrate Christmas and Halloween in this perilous nightmare. Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride follows the tale of the animated classic The Adventures of Ichabod Crane & Mr. Toad. The journey begins in Toad Hall, where we board one of Mr. Toad’s “horseless carriages.” It takes us to a gypsy camp, Winky’s Pub, and even Hell itself. Expect to see a happy ending in this madcap adventure. Robin Hood's Merry Hunt lets us join Robin hood as he and his merry men steal from the rich and give to the poor in an exciting adventure through Sherwood Forest. In the middle of the village is King Arthur's Golden Carousel, an ornate carousel which plays classic Disney songs on an old-fashioned circus organ. Images from the classic film The Sword in the Stone reside upon the rotating tower in the center of the carousel, almost animated when the carousel moves. Once Upon A Time features a unique variety of toys exclusive to this area of the park. The Courtyard Village Haus is a wild restaurant themed to the literal home of the villainous brute Gaston where all of the decoration is composed of antlers. Believe it or not, mutton is served every day for a fair price.
To the northwest is a three-ring circus home to Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Enter the circus and play a wide variety of carnival games while you wait to board one of several flying elephants, all dressed in honor of that famous flying elephant Dumbo. Timothy Mouse and a troupe of hilarious clowns are bound to show up. The Seven Dwarfs’ Mine Train encircles the hills and mountains of Storybook Circus for a scenic view.
Disneyland Music - Mad Tea Party Area Music
To the east of Storybook Circus is A Very Merry Unbirthday. Here we can hop a giant teacup and celebrate our unbirthday party in style: Spinning in rapid circles around a dinner table past other teacups and a large tea kettle (Which emits real steam at the end of each spin). The 100-Acre Wood lies close to the "Frontierland-portal," fitting in perfectly with the wilderness-atmosphere. In the Hundred Acre Wood we find Pooh’s Hunny Hunt, a journey through the 100-Acre Wood with Winnie the Pooh and friends. Board a giant "hunny pot” for a trip through the skies, water, and a dream world. This innovative ride system using no track whatsoever as each vehicles decides its own path. 100-Acre Goods takes up residence in a large oak tree just outside the attraction.
The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time Orchestrated - 61 Fire Temple
In great contrast to the happy feeling of the 100-Acre Wood is the Scottish village located to the north of the woods. This is the outskirts of town where the buildings are charred, twisted, and gloomy. Perhaps the ramshackled state of these buildings has something to do with that mysterious castle lying up ahead. Curved, twisted, and imposing, this castle is home to the adventure known as The Quest for the Black Cauldron, home to Fantasyland’s Horned King. Stories tell of a Celtic farmer named Taran from Caer Dallben who wished to become a great warrior and defeated the Horned King. But this dastard king was only defeated temporarily, and will most certainly try again. To defeat him again, Taran has personally named us “Assistant Pigkeepers” as we follow him on his new journey. We visit the Fair Folk Kingdom, the Marshes of Morva, the Dead Forest, and the Horned King’s Castle.
It’s A Small World - Area Music
To the west of Storybook Circus is a magnificent palace bearing a distinct design and a clock tower featuring a smiling face. Every hour, quarter after, half past, and quarter till the clock sounds off unleashing a parade of dolls representing different countries of the world. This palace is the home of It's A Small World, the happiest cruise that ever sailed. Sail around the world and see the children of the world as they represent peace and happiness by singing the title song "It's A Small World."
Disney - The Little Mermaid - Part Of Your World
Continuing with the nautical theme is an adventure themed to one of the most beloved Disney films of all time: Ariel’s Undersea Voyage. Join the Little Mermaid and her friends to discover exactly what it’s like to be “part of her world.”
Lord of the Rings - Movie Theme 2001-2003
Capping off Fantasyland is a revolutionary dark ride inspired by JRR Tolkien's legendary Lord of the Rings novels. There & Back Again combines the traditional dark ride setup with the versatility of a boat ride. Guests dive into the world of Mirkwood to Dol Gulder in an attempt to discover the secrets of Necromancer.
Walt Disney World - Mickey's Toontown Fair Area Music - Steamboat Willie
Off in the distance, we hear the sounds of what seems to be a Saturday morning cartoon call out to us. I wonder what the origins of those sounds could possibly be?
TOONTOWN
Take the whimsy of the black-&-white cartoons from the early days of animation and combine it with the urban environment of Disney's 1988 film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, and what do you get? Why, you get Toontown. Home to Mickey and the gang, this is one zany town where anything can happen.
Entering from Fantasyland, the first area you encounter is Downtown Toontown. In the center of the area is a statue fo Roger Rabbit, marking the entrance to the Toontown Cab Company, which is currently in turmoil. You see, the Toon Patrol kidnapped the company's boss, Roger Rabbit, as revenge for Dipping their boss, Judge Doom. Now, it's up to you and Eddie Valiant to stop the Toon Patrol on Roger Rabbit's Car-Toon Spin! Across the way is another adventure: The Mystery Mask Mission. Join Darkwing Duck and Launchpad McQuack as they swoop, soar, twist, and turn their way through Toontown to stop the Beagle Boys from robbing the 3rd Little Piggy Bank.
If city life isn't your liking, then hop on The Jolly Trolley or The Lionel & Disneyland Rio Railroad and head on over to Toontown's most famous suburb, Mickeyville. At Mickey's Wonder House, it seems as if Donald and Goofy are refurbishing the living room; and they've made such a mess! Next door, at Minnie's Beauty House, you can help Mickey's girlfriend choose the color of her wardrobe or decide what kind of cheese to have for dinner. Over at the Mickeyville Fairgrounds is Pete's Silly Circus, where Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and their friends perform the wackiest circus Toontown has ever seen! Donald's Dock gives little toons the opportunity to see what it's like to be a sailor duck. Goofy's Paint & Playhouse allows us to redecorate his home in a unique and colorful fashion. Next door is the home of Toontown's bumbling archaeologist: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Oswald's Adventure House invites us to explore his zany rooms and discover his latest treasures. At Chip & Dale's Treehouse, we can play like nuts in this extraordinary Redwood tree! Scurry up the staircase to check out the digs and enjoy the view. Next door, Chip & Dale's fellow Rescue Ranger, Gadget Hackwrench, is working on her latest and greatest invention: the Go-Coaster. Gadget's Go-Coaster is a thrilling kiddie coaster through Gadget's workshop, in which we find madcap inventions gone wrong and appearances by the Rescue Rangers' enemies.
Tomorrowland Music - Disneyland
The sights of Toontown take a drastic change as the sounds of what seems to be a science fiction movie call out to us. What could possibly lie ahead? We'll have to keep moving forward to find out...
TOMORROWLAND
EPCOT Center - CommuniCore Plaza Area Loop (Old)
The future: a concept that has captivated the imaginations of the human race for millennia. Some people like Leonardo da Vinci, Jules Verne, Isaac Asimov, and even George Lucas have dedicated their lives to the future and predicting what it might become. Tomorrowland is home to the legacies of these and other great visionaries throughout history. The twin orbits of innovation and imagination come together to creates exciting adventures for all to enjoy.
"A vista into a world of wondrous ideas, signifying man's achievements...a step into the future, with predictions of constructive things to come. Tomorrow offers new frontiers in science, adventure and ideals: the Atomic Age...the challenges of outer space...and the hope for a peaceful and unified world." -Walt Disney
Entering the land from Big City USA, you walk through the Avenue of Flags (featuring the flags of Mexico, Israel, Australia, Norway, China, Russia, Greece, Germany, Spain, Italy, Vatican City, the Untied States, Japan, Ireland, Jamaica, South Africa, Denmark, India, France, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Canada) and into the heart of Metropolis, holding many of Tomorrowland's best businesses and services. To your left, Star Tours provides Starspeeder 3000 services to such exotic locales like Tatooine, Hoth, Endor, and even the dreaded Death Star itself. Next door is the Tomorrowland Dimensional Cinema. It plays host to Captain EO, a thrilling 4D space fantasy starring Michael Jackson and a cast of crazy creatures. Across the way is The Metropolis Intergalactic Comedy Club, where many acts from around the galaxy do their best routines for your enjoyment. Nearby, there's something a lot more sinister going on. It's Expo Day at XS Tech; today's the one day of the year on which the conglomerate allows the public to view one of its many revolutionary experiments. But this year's Expo Day didn't exactly go as planned. When trying to demonstrate their method of teleportation, Chairman Clench wasn't sent to Tomorrowland. Instead, a hungry, menacing alien was sent here, endangering everyone in the demonstration chamber. Some of the guests called it The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. But do you know who XS Tech's biggest competitor is? It's the greedy humans at Buy & Large; that's who! They operate The Buy & Large PeopleMover that runs all around Tomorrowland. The PeopleMover used to be used by Buy & Large to transport good and servies around Tomorrowland. But after Wall-E and Eve brought humans back to Earth, it is solely used to give tourists a a tour of Tomorrowland narrated by CEO Shelby Forthright. Above the PeopleMover's station is the Tower of the Solar System, staring with the Sun on the bottom and ending with Pluto on the top. The tower marks the location of Astro Jets, where you can board a miniature Space Shuttle and take a spin around the planets. Closer to Fantasyland is a run-down building with a neon sign reading TRON's Game Grid. This is a highly interactive and immersive LPS attraction in which you help TRON battle Sark and the Master Computer Program. After your battle, you can play your favorite arcade games in Flynn's Arcade.
Pokémon Stadium (Melee) - Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Across the way is an adventure of very different sorts. A pair of glass pyramids mark the entrance to The Kanto Pokémon Zoo. Utilizing and The Universe of Energy and The Great Movie Ride's traveling theatre system, you become completely immersed in the world of Pokémon as Professor Oak guides you on your journey to become a Pokémon Master. The climax occurs when Mewtwo and Deoxys start to attack. Thankfully, Ash Ketchum and Pikachu come in to save the day. In the postshow, Ash's Pokémon Center, you can buy Pokémon merchandise, meet Ash Ketchum, Misty, and Brock (all face characters), or board The Lionel & Disneyland Rio Railroad to go elsewhere in the park.
SSBB OST - Brinstar (Melee)
Nearby is Space Mountain: Da Terra à Lua. Inspired by Jules Verne's classic novel, this thrilling attraction gets blasted from a Columbiad cannon and zooms through the cosmos at 80 mph, making this the fastest rollercoaster in Latin America. At the end of your mission, you can visit the Advanced Training Lab, where you can see what it's like to really be an astronaut.
Kids and teenagers can take their first spin behind the wheel on William Robinson's International Timeway. Guests can pick whatever time machine they'd like and take it on a crash course through time. You'll go through the Jurassic era, Ancient Rome, the Wild West, 1950s America, and into the distant future.
Another adventure for young ones involves Star Command, laser pistols, and the Evil Emperor Zurg. That's right; we've come across Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin! Join Buzz Lightyear on his daring space mission to defeat the Evil Emperor Zurg! Store Command sells merchandise featuring your favorite Toy Story pals.
EPCOT CENTER HORIZONS SPACE MEDLEY
Vastly different from the rest of Tomorrowland is Innovention Lane. A portmanteau of "invention" and "innovation," this area is dedicated to the real world's progress in human ingenuity. First up is New Horizons. Take the trip you've always dreamed of as you witness man's first adventures outside the cave, the building of the pyramids, the Renaissance, the inventions of the automobile and the Internet, and go far beyond our lifetimes to discover what horizons lie ahead. If we can dream it, we can do it!
Capping off Innovention Lane is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, based of the Jules Verne novel of the same name. Join Captain Nemo as he dives under the sea to explore the polar ice caps, the Graveyard of Lost Ships, and even the kingdom of Atlantis on this marvelous submarine voyage.
As we leave Tomorrowland, night has fallen upon the park. The land lights up with neon lights, creating an awe-inspiring glow to tickle the senses. We've had enough future for one day though so let's head back to Big City USA for a little bit more fun before the end of the day.

To all who come to this magical place: welcome! Many years ago, a master storyteller named Walt Disney brought to life the stories we all know and love in a place called Disneyland. Today, his spirit and imagination come to Brazil in new and exciting adventures where children and their parents can have fun together. May Disneyland Rio be a source of unlimited joy and may it be a symbol of eternal friendship between the great nations of Brazil and the United States of America.
If you’ve ever wished upon a star, and your dream came true, then you know a little something about the magic of Disneyland Resort Rio. The year was 1955 when Walt Disney introduced the world to a totally new concept in family entertainment. It was called Disneyland and it was indescribable. Gone was the crazy-filled chaos of the typical amusement park. Instead, guests found themselves surrounded by a land of three-dimensional fantasy. It was like walking onto a move set or into a dream. Walt’s dream was later brought to eight countries around the world. Encompassing two spectacular theme parks, three resort hotels, a water park, and a nighttime entertainment complex, Disneyland Resort Rio has something for everyone of every age.
Designer's Note: Think of Fire Mountain as a cross between Journey to the Center of the Earth and Expedition: Everest.Across the way from The Jungle Cruise, once Mystery Spring’s foremost transportation method, is an ominous mountain that seems to have lava flowing out of it 24/7. Natives of the island believe a menacing deity called the Lava Monster has it lair deep within the mountain. The Society of Explorers & Adventurers, of which Daring Dorothy was a loyal member, wanted to see if there really was a Lava Monster. So, they recruited you to board a drilling machine to explore the boiling bowels of Fire Mountain. But beware, there is a "tiny" bit of truth behind the legend of the Lava Monster.
